Location: Junik, Western Kosova
Background: This is set to be one of the new municipalities of Kosova, even of that, it is among the oldest towns. In historical sources, Junik is mentioned as an early town, with all the features of Dardanian’s village, with a population of rich tradition and culture. With a heritage of rare natural landscapes characterized by mountains, a rich hydrographic system with rivers and lake. Also has a rich cultural heritage, which is as ancient as unique, that has been managed to maintain until in our days. As a small town in the western of Kosova, it lies on the left bank of the river Erenik and in the right side of river Trava. Located in picturesque Albanian Alps. Just at the spring of the river Erenik, raised in edges of Gjeravica Albanian Alps. Junik climate characterized by high continental and modified Mediterranean climate with components. Summer is hot and dry. Sources of water coming from the crowns of the mountains from the pit of Erenik and Albanian Alps, form the surface of the water flow in Junik village.
