In this academy, participants were addressed with a few words by the President of AAK and former Commander of Dukagjini Operational Zone, Mr. Ramush Haradinaj. Mr. Haradinaj in his speech greeted the familiy members of martyrs of the Battle of Zharre and all the fallen heroes and others.
On the occasion of this day, Mayor Mr. Agron Kuçi with his collaborators and citizens paid tribute to places of the fallen, in Zharre, Edmond Hoxha’s statue, and near the monolith in the center of Junik.

Dear family members of martyrs of the nation, honored Mr.Haradinaj, veterans, persons with disabilities of the KLA War, representatives of institutions from all levels, respected media fellow citizens of Junik, ladies and gentlemen, honored guests, welcome to this Memorial Academy, organized in honor of Epopee of Zharre, and all the martyrs and the martyrs fallen during the glorious war of the Kosova Liberation Army.
Rare are military and political movements for national liberation throughout our history, which are not dangle and rose, in the freedom-loving cradle of the historic Junik.

So Junik, this patriotic center of our people, from the Albanian League of Prizren was sacrificed for the homeland, pouring sweat and fresh blood of his best sons, since, 1912, 1913, 1923, 1941, 1944 – 1945, 1948, 1956 and so on. This was the time when, Junik seen in all Yugoslavia’s, as black marks, the most reactionary and dangerous. Only at the end of 1944 the Serbian occupation machinery, full rage, hatred and barbarity against the albanians, shot the best men, devoted fighters, over 50 of them, led by Ali Bajraktari and Avdyl Hoxha.
It’s too long string of Junik citizens, who defended their homeland in the most difficult moments of history, each time where the self-being of this ancient Illyrian-Dardan people was endangered.
Therefore, naturally that Junik during the recent heroic war in Kosova, brought from among themselves his best sons to mark a new page in the glorious history of the Albanians in the Balkans.
It’s too long string of Junik citizens, who defended their homeland in the most difficult moments of history, each time where the self-being of this ancient Illyrian-Dardan people was endangered.

The harbinger rifle of freedom of Edmond Hoxha who was born in Resistance Towers of Junik, in Pestovë of Vushtrria warned the citizens of Junik that not only have not forgotten the testament of their ancestors, but have gotten dangled and cultivated for days will not delay long.

We are gathered today at this end of July, in this Memorial Academy in remembering to many important events in our youngest history, not more than 15 years ago, when here in this nest of patriotism fought to live or die against a murderous machinery, multiple times more prepared in the military but much less prepared morally, because they were aware that they where fighting in a foreign land, so in our ancestral land.

In this way, the freedom leader and strategist, obviously here were ranked also the Junik boys, 20th of whom are martyrs of the nation today: Edmondi, Ismeti, Gëzim, Xhaferi, Avdyli, Shkelzeni, Arifi, Fadili, Bashkimi, Ademi, Shabani, Mehmeti, Isaja, Sadiku, Bajrami, Jaha, Musa, Bujari, Besniku and many others, who with great esteem we honor and commemorate today.
