The Municipal Museum was built by the co-financing of Junik Municipality and the European Union – EU, managed by the European Union Office in Kosova and implemented by Cultural Heritage without Borders, titled "Mirë se Vini në Dukagjin".
Mayor Mr. Agron Kuçi, with the occasion of inauguration of the Museum, in his speech, among others stressed the importance of the museum to preserve and cultivate the cultural heritage of Junik. In the following, the Mayor thanked the Office of the European Union and Mr. Stock for continued support made for the Municipality of Junik. The Mayor stressed that with the EU in the near past, two important projects were realized for the Municipality of Junik, such as; the Municipal Library "Din Mehmeti" and the Tourism Regional Center "Shihemi n’Dukagjin".
While, the Head of the EU Office, Mr. Christoff Stock, in his speech, said that he feels very good when he is in Junik, especially when making inaugurations of this kind. He thanked Mayor Kuçi for the commitment and cooperation in joint projects. Mr. Stock promised the Mayor and citizens that his office will continue to support in the future Junik and the Mayor Mr. Agron Kuçi.
Mayor of Junik Mr. Agron along with Mr. Cristoff Stock-Head of Operations of the European Commission in Kosova with associates and with the participation of many citizens of Junik Municipality opened the Municipal Museum, which is located in the neighborhood Hoxhaj, in the Tower of Selim Hoxha.
